Memorial Day

Print đź–¨

Lord, hear this prayer
From us who share
The memories of war,
Who know the price
Of sacrifice
And “goals worth dying for”,
Who boldly brag
About our flag –
The symbol of our pride –-
And realize
She rides our skies
Because so many died.

“Their loss – our gain”
Is truly plain.
We are because they gave!
To that bestowed
A debt is owed
To cherish and to save.
Help us proceed
To fill this need
Without war’s wasteful way.
Give us the love
To rise above
What needs Memorial Day.
