May your Christmas be merry
the whole day through.
May the spirit of Santa
be good to you.
May the legends of holly
and mistletoe
Take their root in your
life and forever grow.
May you travel once more
into David’s town.
At the stable’s approach
lay your burdens down
While you enter and kneel
as the shepherds knelt,
While you feel in your heart
what the wisemen felt.
May you see as a shadow
because of Him
All that blackens your daylight
or makes it dim.
May your friends and your faith
have that strength divine
With which God, as a symbol,
has graced the pine.
May you hear in the echoes
the angel band
Sing of Peace and Good Will
over all our land.
If our Father will make
what I wish come true,
Christmas Day will be merry
for yours and you.
